The Rooted Wisdom’s Life Skills program gravitates away from traditional scholarship support. Instead, it focuses on an incentive-based system that allows students to “earn” an enterprise project and educational stipend through participation, attendance, and engagement.

Students who complete this program receive the necessary tools to begin a personal savings plan, demonstrate increased business knowledge, and learn a vocational skill to begin earning income for immediate needs or future educational goals.

Since launching the Life Skills program in 2016 at St. James Secondary School, student enrollment has increased by 155%! In 2022, 93% of our students returned to school two years after two years of school closures caused by Covid-19.
